Our new series "For Mature Audiences Only" is about developing spiritual maturity. We've dealt with some myths about spiritual growth and we've looked at what spiritual growth looks like. We are discovering that spiritual maturity is not an end in itself. Spiritual maturity is for ministry and mission. Spiritual maturity is to give out. You need to balance input with output. If you only ate and you never exercised that's not how you grow. You grow by exercise and eating. In fact, if you're just spiritually eating all the time, you come to church and you're eating, you go to Bible study and you're listening to Bible teachers on the radio-you're just getting fatter and fatter and fatter. Pretty soon we'll have to roll you down the ailses. What some of you need is not more input. You need output. You need to get involved in a ministry and mission.
