All live things grow. In fact growth is the evidence of life. If you go to Shedd Museum in Chicago, out the very front it says, "The evidence of life is growth." If a child doesn't grow up, that's a tragedy. And if a believer doesn't grow to spiritual maturity, that's a tragedy. God wants you to grow up. He wants you to grow up physically. He wants you to grow up emotionally and He wants you to grow up spiritually. Ephesians 4:14 "We are not meant to remain as children at the mercy of every chance wind teaching. But we are meant to hold firmly to the truth in love and to grow up in every way into Christ, the head." The model of perfect maturity is Christ. We've been teaching here at West End that you were created to become like Jesus Christ. We are to learn to think, act, feel and talk like Christ. Because He is the model of perfect humanity. What Jesus came to do is not just to save us from our sins but also to show us how to live.
