Prayer is not a ritual or a rite or simply reading the current prayer list. It's a personal communication heart to heart with God. It's conversation about life: Father what do you think about... I'm upset about... I feel trapped; help me find some way out...I'm feeling left out...I'm getting too busy; what can I do to slow down...I'm sorry-I messed up...Thank you for the help...Why are people that way...Tell me what I should do different...I'm really discouraged...Please help my kids get to know you...This is going to be a tough week...The battle is raging in my heart; I need courage to do what I know needs to be done...There's this person I want to meet you...Thanks for getting my attention...Show me the way; I'm lost...
Conversation (prayer) with the Father is essential for knowing him and staying close to him.
