In 2 Timothy we find a warning about the dangers of the world - dangers which we often find ourselves encountering in society today. In this passage, Paul reminds Timothy that because of the dangers of the world, which will grow worse in the last days, Timothy must stick by what he knows is true - the Word of God.
Because there are so many things in today’s society that can deceive us, we too must stay grounded in the ultimate truth - the Bible. As Paul reminded Timothy, the Bible is the inspiration of God, “that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” Without the Word of God, we are incomplete, scrambling to find truth in an imperfect world. But with the Word in our life, we can be ready to fulfill God’s purpose and live the abundant life He has prepared for us.
