Wars and Rumours of Wars - (2)
Speaker: Pastor Alan Campbell
Date: 6/10/2009
References: Matthew 24;Mark 13;Luke 21

In this second and final part of his series entitled "Wars and Rumours of Wars" Pastor Alan continues to put current world-events under the spotlight of Bible prophecy.

Since 1948 and the establishment of the Zionist State of Israeli, the city of Jerusalem has become "a cup of trembling and a burdensome stone" as foretold in prophecy.

The recent election in Iran with its claims and counterclaims does not bode well for the stability of this nation - Afghanistan and Pakistan look set to become involved in the conflict that is brewing while the American invasion of Iraq - ostensibly to get rid of Saddam Hussein but also in the interests of "oil" and of protecting Israeli - has become bogged down, as too, has the "Afghanistan" campaign.

Pastor Alan shows how the "stan" States, which are racially related to the Turks, are all being gathered to the final conflict and Islam generally is on the march. As Joel, the prophet, writes, the weak are saying they are strong and beginning to flex their muscles.

As these events unfold we must pray that the Lord will awaken our people to their identity as God's true Israel and that "this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached for a witness in all the world". We also have the assurance that the Lord Jesus will return to "cut short" these days of fear and conflict.

In this series about end-time events, Pastor Alan has prepared us for what is coming and as a result, we should endeavour to make our calling and election sure.
