2005 NETS Pastors' Conference II: Session 2 - The Character of the Preacher: The Reflection of Christ
By: Dr. Bryan Chapell | 10/11/2005

When the people God has called you to serve sin and you're tempted to be angry at them, do you intercede for them instead? Pastors must be first intercessors, first forgivers, first riskers, and first repenters. Dr. Bryan Chapell, president of Covenant Theological Seminary and author of "Christ-Centered Preaching," offers this challenge to men at the 2005 NETS Pastors' Conference.

And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come with superiority of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God.

For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.

And I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling.

And my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God.

I Corinthians 2:1-5
