Introduction:
  • The Book of Revelation guarantees the eventual victory of Christ over the world, sin, and the devil.
    -Revelation 19:1-16
    -Illustration: One of the largest stained-glass
    windows in the world, found in a famous cathedral in
    Milan, depicts the triumph of Jesus Christ as Lord.
  • Big Idea: This vision of Christ's future victory is necessary for our hope, faith, and endurance.
Christ's future victory gives us hope.
  • Christ's guaranteed victory gives us hope in a world where evil always seems to return stronger and stronger.
    -Illustration: John's revelation includes a
    wicked beast that is healed from its deathblow and
    worshiped by all the Earth.
  • Christ's guaranteed victory gives us hope in the midst of our suffering.
Christ's future victory strengthens our faith in him.
  • Jesus' victory will come for him, by him, and through him alone.
    -Illustration: The amount of war in the 19th
    century dispelled the notion that humans can bring
    about peace through their own development.
  • The guaranteed destruction of the world strengthens our faith to stand up for Christ within it.
